So here’s what I learned this week.
If you’re a small business owner like me, you better make sure your Yelp listing is up to date and in order and fast.
Why the rush?
As you may have heard, Apple has swapped out Google Maps as the default Mapp App (get it?) on the new iPhone 5 and iOS6 with their own Mapp App. Yeah the first version sucks, but it will get better.
The key thing to note is that the new Apple Map App integrates directly with Yelp. So next time someone is looking for your business on their iPhone or iPad, it’s going to show up with a direct link to your Yelp listing.
Here’s what it looks like on my iPhone for our Cos Cob Fresh Green Light office as I clicked through a logical progression.

PS - make sure you’re directing you customers to write their reviews of your business on Yelp - especially if you haven’t in the past.
Client: And could you burn the designs on to a CD once you’re done? I’ll have someone pick it up.
Me: I could e-mail it to you - if that’s to your convenience.
Client: Hmm… Well, I don’t have e-mail. But you could send it to my Gmail.

Really interesting look at how media is being consumed today.
